Legoff who signed the back of this painting and dated in 1908 was Amelia Legoff, born in 1882 in Canada, who lived as of the 1940 census in Winslow, Maine. And perhaps it is Amelia herself at the center of the painting in her red dress and apron, facing toward her house with two faithful chickens at her heels!
